Doctor Who: the Doctor's Wife

The latest episode of Doctor Who is one of the best yet.

Auntie and Uncle introduce Irdis to the Doctor

Written by Neil Gaiman, the author of Coraline and Stardust as well as many other suspenseful novels, it was creepy and disturbing at times, yet funny at others.

Neil Gaiman, Suranne Jones (Idris), and Matt Smith (the Doctor)
Idris turned out to be the soul of the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) trapped in a human body by the House, a sentient asteroid. It also featured the return of the Ninth and Tenth Doctor's coral-like TARDIS interior.

The Doctor pilots the TARDIS
And here's an important quote:
Rory: At the end, she was talking. She kept repeating something. I don't know what it meant.
The Doctor: What did she say?
Rory: "The only water in the forest is the river." She said we'd need to know it someday. It doesn't make sense, does it?
I have a feeling 'river' refers to River Song, the mysterious time traveler living in close reverse to the Doctor. 'Forest' may refer to the first episode featuring River Song, Forest of the Dead.
And, finally, here's a funny quote:
The Doctor: The House deleted all the bedrooms. I should probably make you two a new bedroom. You'd like that wouldn't you?
Amy: Okay. Um. Doctor, this time could we lose the bunkbeds?
The Doctor: No! Bunk beds are cool. A bed. With a ladder. You can't beat that.

Doctor Who: Curse of the Black Spot

Last week's episode of Doctor Who was entitled Curse of the Black Spot, and it featured the siren, an other-worldly creature that turned men to dust with a touch of the hand that appeared on the ship of Captain Avery, an English seaman turned pirate.

Amy was very cool.

Amy prepares to save the Doctor from walking the plank.

Captain Avery: I'm confused!
The Doctor: Well, its a big club — we should get t-shirts.

Doctor Who Series Premiere!

Yesterday, April 23, was the premiere for Series 6 of Doctor Who!

My family and I made Jammie Dodgers and fish custard (fish sticks dipped in custard)

and decorated the table as the TARDIS.

At 8:00, we started watching the Impossible Astronaut. It was fantastic!! The new aliens (who may or may not be the Silence) are among the scariest of Doctor Who. The acting was brilliant, as always, and River Song's presence kept the questions coming. Next week, the Day of the Moon (The resolution for the opener) will air!

The Doctor: I'm up here being clever and NONE of you are up there looking impressed, so what is the point of you all being here?

TWO AMYS(maybe)!!!!!

After many analyzations of the newest BBC Doctor Who trailer, my sister and I have discovered something momentous. In the final sequence, Amy spins with a gun and shoots someone behind the Doctor, who looks on, horrified.

Amy shoots
Every time we watched the trailer, my sister said she saw someone behind the Doctor--the person Amy was shooting. We managed to get a screenshot and....

If you look carefully, you can see the same pattern as Amy's shirt, as well as part of her face.

Amy shoots Amy. Either it's a clone....or it's the real Amy, and it's the clone doing the shooting. On April 23, we'll find out!

Now she's gone.

Doctor Who Series 6 is almost here!

Since Christmas, I've been eagerly waiting for the release of the sixth series of Doctor Who, and now it's almost time. In three weeks, April 23, at 9 pm Eastern Time, the first part of the opening two-parter will be released on BBC America!

For the last few months, my siblings and I have been analyzing the trailers for information about the newest series of the British programme. So far we have determined there will be Nazis, (SS Men, to be exact)

Sirens,

and creepy skull-like aliens.

Basically, I can't wait!

My Newest Novel

Last April, I started writing my first Science Fiction novel. It is also the first of my current books I'm writing in first person. After rewriting the first chapter multiple times, accidentally deleting my formatting, and losing most of Chapter Nine, I'm almost done. Just the confrontation, resolution, and denouement left to write--about three more chapters. Then comes the thing most (if not all) writers dread: editing!

Attack of the Snow Daleks!

In the first few weeks of Febuary, almost nine inches of snow fell...and the Daleks invaded!!

The Cult of Skaro was close behind.

The Cult of Skaro and the Genesis Ark (Center)

Fortunately, the Fourth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors were there to stop them.

The Eleventh, Tenth, Ninth, and Fourth Doctors

We used a Styrofoam cup to form the bodies, a 1/3 cup for the heads, and a 1/2 teaspoon for the dalekanium (balls on sides).

Dalek Caan
Of course, now that the temperature is eighty, the Daleks are now nothing but a memory and sticks on the ground.
Dalek Thay: I am Dalek Thay.
Dalek Sec: Dalek Sec.
Dalek Jast: Dalek Jast.
Dalek Caan: Dalek Caan.
The Tenth Doctor: So that's it! At last, the Cult of Skaro. I thought you were just a legend.
Rose Tyler: What are they?
The Tenth Doctor: A secret order, above and beyond the Emperor himself! Their job was to imagine, think as the enemy thinks. Even dared to have names...[disgustedly] all to find new ways of killing! ---from Doctor Who: Doomsday
